Tyson 2.0 Nieuwmarkt

This is the second Amsterdam branch of Tyson 2.0, Mike Tyson's cannabis brand, and it sits right on the Nieuwmarkt square. Before the rebrand it was the Greenhouse Effect, and before that Hill Street at the Market, Happy House and Bar-Studio 14, so there has been a coffeeshop here for decades.

The front window looks straight onto the square, which is a big part of the appeal: you can sit with a smoke and watch Nieuwmarkt life go by. There's seating inside and the space is clean and relaxed.

Visitors single out the staff, who know the menu well and will steer you towards strains that suit what you're after. Alongside the cannabis you'll find Tyson 2.0 merchandise and accessories. The brand's first Amsterdam shop is on Spuistraat.
