The Plug Utopia

The Plug Utopia, at Nieuwezijds Voorburgwal 132, is where The Plug chain began. The long-running Utopia coffeeshop, beside the hostel of the same name, became the group's first shop in 2018, and The Plug West, The Plug East, The Plug Westerdok and Smokery have followed since.

It's small and cosy with enough seats, and draws a fair number of locals. The staff are known for being helpful, and the menu is packed with Californian strains in 3.5-gram jars, plus cheaper options and hash.

If you'd like a beer too, Big Shots Plug, a smoker-friendly bar linked to the chain, is across the road. The Plug Utopia is open daily from 09:00 to 01:00.
