Strain Hunters

Strain Hunters began as a documentary series in which Green House founders Arjan Roskam and the late Franco Loja travelled to places such as Morocco, India, Jamaica and Congo in search of rare landrace genetics; it was even shown on HBO. In September 2020 a coffeeshop of the same name opened as part of the Green House group.

You will find it at Singel 387, on the Singel canal and about two minutes' walk from the Bloemenmarkt flower market. It was previously Dutch Flowers and later an outpost of 420 Café. The shop is small and cosy, with a little terrace and indoor seating looking out over the water, and photos from the team's travels on the walls.

Visitors praise the patient staff, the coffee and the choice of strains. If you want to sit by the canal with something good, it is a lovely option in this part of town.
